🌿 We recently had the pleasure of hosting a tour of the ZooShare Biogas Plant for Ms. Widdup's Grade 12 Environmental Science class from Stephen Leacock CI, plus a Fleming College student working on a biogas group project! 🌱💧

From learning how food waste from local grocery stores powers our plant to seeing how we turn manure and organic waste into renewable energy, the students got a firsthand look at the power of sustainable energy solutions! 💡🌍

Thank you to Ms. Widdup, her inspiring students, and our Fleming College visitor for joining us. We’re thrilled to share the importance of waste diversion and the impact of biogas on our planet! 🌞✨

🌱✨ Behind the Scenes: Food Waste to Energy! ✨🌱

We recently visited a local @loblawson store to see how they’re making a positive impact by putting inedible food waste to good use! 🛒🍎 From fruits and veggies to expired products, the dedicated team ensures all unsellable food is collected and processed efficiently, keeping it out of landfills. 🌍

Check out the equipment, provided by Walker Industries, that they use to sort, prepare and store this waste for its next stop: the @ZooShare biogas plant! ♻️💡 Here, it’s transformed into renewable energy, helping to power local homes and businesses. 💪⚡
